With this piece as a jumping off point, in the “Home” series I am working with a more figurative style, including abstracted depictions of rooms in my house.

This little guy is also special to me because I created it as a sort of prototype of the modern art / vintage frames concept. Seeing it framed made me feel for the first time like I could actually sell my work.

This work is inspired by my friend Lauren. The gold, yellow and purple color palette convey her warm and welcoming presence. With playful figures to represent her family and environment, the deep purple depicts Lauren’s energy and grace.
